Fayvo

Social discovery for your
favorite everything.

I designed a social platform that helps people discover and share their favorite places, things, and experiences—turning personal recommendations into curated discovery.

My role:

UX Strategy • Platform experience design • User Engagement Analysis

• 15K users   • 89% weekly active  • 4.6 ★ App Store  • Featured by Apple

The problem

People trust friends' recommendations over
algorithms, but these get lost in DM threads and
screenshot folders. Meanwhile, review platforms
give you strangers' opinions, not curated taste
from your network.

The gap:

No platform for curating and discovering favorites through people
whose taste you trust

What we built

Social discovery around three behaviors:

Curate your favorite

Collections (themed lists) instead of single posts.

Shows depth of taste, not just momentary updates

Discover through taste network

Follow people for their expertise in specific domains.

67% of follows are non-mutual (taste over friendship)

Save for later

Personal workspace bridges discovery to action.

54% of saved items eventually get tried.

Key Decision

Make the gamification module the centerpiece
because users who played games had 40%
higher purchase rates.

Instead of Instagram-style single posts, I designed around curated lists:

Best Coffee in Brooklyn" with 12 spots

Each item has photos, description, why you love it

Collections are living documents (grow over time)

Why:

Comprehensive lists are more useful than scattered recommendations. Shows someone's taste across multiple items.

Impact:

Average 3.2 collections per user with 8.4 items each. 89% of engagement
is with collections.

Giving space for group chats and group calls
make platform more friendly and trust worthy.
