Where the Experience Fell Short
Fayvo had built a strong foundation as a content-sharing platform, but the product was struggling to deliver relevance, engagement, and clarity at scale. Users were saving and sharing content, but they weren’t meaningfully exploring or returning.
Key issues included:
- LOW DISCOVERABILITY
- Low discoverability of shared content from friends — the experience felt static and feed-driven, not social or personal.
- UNCLEAR CONTENT ORGANIZATION
- users didn’t always know where to find saved items or how they were categorized.
- WEAK ENGAGEMENT LOOPS
- After saving or sharing something, users had little reason to return or re-engage.
- FRAGMENTED USER FLOWS
- Fragmented user flows from saving to sharing to exploring, there was no cohesive or emotionally-driven experience.
- LOW VISIBILITY OF KEY MOMENTS
- Only 4% accessed their profile — where fuel savings and other motivators were displayed.
- LACK OF SOCIAL CUES
- Users couldn’t easily see what friends were loving, watching, or recommending in a personalized way.
Product & Experience Objectives
Our goal was to evolve Fayvo from a content-saving app into a socially-driven discovery platform. The focus was on making content feel more alive, connected, and worth coming back to.
We aimed to:
- Surface saved content in a more engaging, social context.
- Encourage return visits through meaningful interactions and shared relevance.
- Simplify key actions like saving, organizing, and sharing.
- Build trust by anchoring discovery in real relationships, not algorithms
insights that shaped our direction
Our research revealed a clear pattern: users were landing on Fayvo but leaving too quickly. While the app had strong content-saving functionality, it failed to capture attention or encourage exploration right from the start.
Here’s what stood out:
- Users didn’t feel engaged or curious enough to scroll or interact which caused higher bounce rate.
- New users struggled to find interesting content quickly, leading to drop-off
- Once a user saved something, there was no prompt to explore more, follow others, or build a habit
- Without emotional triggers, personalization, or dynamic discovery, users often left within moments
Framing the Opportunity
Our research revealed a clear pattern: users were landing on Fayvo but leaving too quickly. While the app had strong content-saving functionality, it failed to capture attention or encourage exploration right from the start.
This meant creating an experience that:
- Grabs attention from the first screen with relevant, engaging content.
- Encourages exploration by surfacing recommendations based on interests and social circles
- Guides the user journey beyond saving — into browsing, sharing, and coming back.
- Makes content feel dynamic through smart prioritization and subtle personalization.

Impact & reflection
- INCREASED ENGAGEMENT
- Increased engagement on the rewards screen through clearer coin visibility and action-driven rewards
- IMPROVED RETENTION SIGNALS
- Improved retention signals, especially in users who interacted with Spin to Win and referrals
We learned that rewards only work when they’re clear, earned, and emotionally felt. Structure, transparency, and collaboration turned a confusing screen into a habit-building experience.
